This is the second summer at our new place on Garfield Avenue and our garden is much more plentiful than the previous year. We started our backyard garden’s from scratch and have added many perennials and had much success with many sun loving annuals as well. By Mid-July we were taking in weekly bouquets, here are just a few of our favorites.
A list of 2011 Blooms
Pink Iris
Hot Pink & Purple Phlox
Hosta Flowers & Leaves
Hydrangea (The Snow Ball Variety)
Zinnia’s
Sedum
Dahlia’s (4 different styles)
Marigolds

I took my boys outside a few weeks ago for some blanket time in the backyard while we soaked up the last few days of summer. It has been decided that blankets in the backyard are meant for sky gazing, animal hunting, and butterfly watchin’. This scrap quilt is the best, made with love by my sweet Grandma.

It only took 6 weeks but this kid finally smiled at me. What a heart melter.

How many people are lucky enough to have their 30th birthday also be their golden birthday and fall on a friday. Holy moly this party has potential.

I made this announcement for Gus a few weeks ago but will probably never have enough time to actually have it printed. Stuffing, addressing, and stamping envelopes seems near impossible these days so this tumblr post is as official as it gets for now.
